Scottish artist Ellis O’Connor uses art as a means of self-regulation and processing emotions. She describes art as both therapeutic and reflective, capturing her subconscious through abstract, expressive landscapes inspired by nature. The recent autism diagnosis has brought clarity to her lifelong sensitivities and need for quiet, natural spaces.
Ellis describes her deep connection with nature, talking about how outdoor activities in the stunning Skye scenery help her to recharge, and escape overwhelming stimuli. She recalls the times before her diagnosis and reflects on the power of expressing emotions through art, attaining peace and validation while embracing her authentic self.
