Making of Patricia Piccinini's Skywhalepapa

Last year I was asked to document the creation of Patricia Piccinini's Skywhalepapa over July-November, a monumental sculpture in the form of a hot-air balloon at Cameron Balloons in Bristol. A new companion piece to Skywhale, together they form a Skywhale family that will be launched near the National Gallery of Australia and take flight over Canberra three times. The sculptures will also float across the skies of Australia as a National Gallery Touring Exhibition.
